New drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first year after passing their test than at any other time in their motoring career.
Pass Plus is a Government initiative, supported by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and a range of UK car insurers. It encourages those who have just passed their driving test to become safer and better drivers.
Roadwise builds on this successful nationwide scheme with our own custom-designed Pass Plus Course, which offers participants the opportunity to experience practical training of driving on busy main roads, motorways, quiet country roads, night driving, difficult weather conditions and driving on dual carriageways.
A Pass Plus day delivered by a registered Instructor involves 2 participants having the opportunity, in an 8 hour ‘Away Day’, to experience each of the first 4 modules. The course is completed by separate sessions in night driving and driving in difficult weather conditions, the latter using our state of the art Skidmaster simulation vehicle.
Once you’ve completed this course you may be able to get a car insurance discount. For this you will need your Pass Plus certificate issued by our registered Instructor.
The Aberdeenshire Community Safety Partnership is running a pilot trial offering £150 towards the cost of the Pass Plus driving course for young drivers under 25 years of age.
